CPhI South America 2014 launches with generics showing huge growth

UBM Live announces that CPhI South America is returning for the 7th year to São Paulo, Brazil, 5–7 August 2014. The event will co-locate with Food Ingredients South America (FiSA), creating South America’s most comprehensive meeting point for the pharmaceutical industry.

Three of the top 25 countries for pharmaceutical sales are now exploring the South America market as a result of increased healthcare investment for the burgeoning middle class. The generics market, in particular, is growing exponentially as governments look for cost effective ways to provide wider access to medicines. Host of CPhI South America, Brazil is expected to become the fourth biggest pharmaceutical market in the world by 2022 with its value predicted to be $61.05 billion.

CPhI South America and its co-located event provide the ideal platform to break into this attractive region, with both international & domestic buyers and suppliers looking to build partnerships and relationships that will drive the market.

This year’s event sees the launch of the matchmaking programme, which allows exhibitors and attendees to strategically target the best contacts for their businesses ahead of the show free of charge. It enhances the quality of meetings taking place and increases the chance of partnerships.

Building on its previous success, more than 13,000 people from more than 38 different countries will be in attendance, representing leading manufacturers and suppliers within the pharma & food industries. With even more exhibitors and attractions the event is set to further facilitate the high levels of growth South America is enjoying.

Highlights of CPhI South America 2014:

“The South American pharmaceutical market is experiencing a great period of expansion, especially across API and generics production. With a growing middle class and increased support from many of the governments, South America is proving to be a very attractive region for international manufacturers looking to break into new markets. CPhI South America, as the only dedicated conference, plays a key role in the region to further accelerate growth and drive innovation in the pharma market.” Chris Kilbee, group director pharma at CPhI
