257 earn regulatory affairs certification in Autumn 2013

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) has announced that 257 regulatory professionals from around the world passed one or more Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) exams during the Autumn 2013 exam period. Passing one of these exams earns the prestigious RAC credential, the only professional credential specifically for those involved with the regulation of healthcare products.

“The RAC credential is the gold standard for regulatory professionals,” said RAPS Executive Director Sherry Keramidas, PhD, FASAE, CAE. “Earning the RAC is a great accomplishment. It requires these individuals to have extensive subject matter knowledge and the ability to apply it. Furthermore, it demonstrates the commitment they have made to their regulatory careers.”

There are four versions of the exam: the RAC (US) covering US regulations, the RAC (EU) covering European regulations, the RAC (CAN) covering Canadian regulations and the RAC (Global), which focuses on knowledge of regulatory functions throughout the healthcare product lifecycle, with reference to global standards commonly used in global harmonisation or alignment initiatives by regulatory authorities around the world. All four RAC exams are intended for regulatory professionals with at least three to five years of regulatory experience.

Both the RAC exams and the criteria for maintaining the credential are developed, managed and administered by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB) with support from the RAC Program Office at RAPS.
