Bosch wins German Design Award for its scalable pouch machine

Bosch Packaging Technology has announced that its Sigpack VPF (Vertical Platform for Flat Pouches) — a freely scalable pouch machine — has received the German Design Award 2018 in the Excellent Product Design category.

The German Design Awards are presented by the German Design Council on an annual basis. The awardees are selected by a high-profile, international jury, which specifically focuses on projects that represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape.

Bosch’s Sigpack VPF was selected as it offers unique flexibility as a result of expandable modules. The product offers manufacturers the ability to scale production from two to 12 lines and/or to change pouch sizes quickly to meet market demand. Additionally, the company reports that it features an innovative dosing system — each line has its own dosing chamber and its own stock of product. This feature will enable manufacturers to fill two products on the same machine at the same time, for example.
