AstraZeneca extends contract with Yusen Logistics

AstraZeneca has extended its contract with logistics provider, Yusen Logistics, for the global distribution of its products.

Yusen handles AstraZeneca products from throughout the manufacturing process — active ingredient and bulk materials to prescription drugs. With this contract extension Yusen will continue to be the distributor for the existing road business, air and sea volumes for AstraZeneca.

“This renewal underlines the continued evolution of our collaboration with AstraZeneca,” said Andy Fitt, deputy MD, Yusen Logistics. “As a long-standing partner we are continuing to proactively deliver service and quality enhancements on a local, regional and global basis.”

“We are delighted to continue and further develop our strategic partnership with Yusen Logistics, working together to support AstraZeneca’s business objectives,” added Julian Wann, global category lead: Freight & Logistics, at AstraZeneca.

Yusen’s logistics’ solution is based around its European Pharma Superhighway road network, which currently carries around 250,000 pallets for AstraZeneca to destinations in Europe and worldwide.
