Beneo offers a sweet surprise at CPhI

On the first day of CPhI Worldwide yesterday ingredients group Beneo held a birthday party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its water-soluble filler-binder excipient, galenIQ

GalenIQ is a filler-binder derived from beet sugar and has a mildly sweet, sugar-like taste used the mask the unpleasant taste of certain active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Michael Black, head of sales, pharma at Beneo said: “It’s a great time to look back at ten years of success and positive development.

“GalenIQ is globally recognised and appreciated for its unique characteristics and, in particular, for contributing to the palatability of many pharmaceutical products which is especially important in paediatrics and veterinary medicines.

“There are promising opportunities ahead, though, and we are constantly investigating the sensorial advantages that can be achieved with this highly versatile excipient.”
