Best of British! EEF hunts for the country’s top manufacturer

by

The manufacturers’ organisation, EEF, has launched its annual Future Manufacturing Awards, designed to find Britain’s unsung manufacturing heroes and most outstanding apprentices.

Free to enter, the awards are separated into nine categories. These include business growth, exporting, developing people, innovation, leadership, environmental achievement, health and safety as well as partnerships.

Additionally, the work of manufacturing apprentices is being celebrated with companies urged to put forward the ‘best and brightest’ to help promote opportunities available for young people in the industry.

All entries to these awards will be judged regionally, with the winners of each region then going through to compete for a national award. One manufacturer will be given the accolade of ‘Winner of Winners’.

“A strong manufacturing sector is the lifeblood of the economy, providing much-needed jobs and prosperity in every region of the UK,” said Terry Scuoler, CEO of EEF. “This takes dedication, dynamism and hard work. Despite these attributes, and many more, our sector is full of unsung heroes who do not get the recognition they deserve. These awards are about shining a light on the achievements of British manufacturers and celebrating best practice and success.”
