Biotech to join PM on international trade trip to China

Developer and manufacturer of bioscience products, Stream Bio, will be joining the prime minister, Theresa May, and other select UK businesses, on the international trade visit to China.

The three-day trip, which is aimed at helping the PM and the International Trade Secretary, Liam Fox, to build post-Brexit trade relationships with China, will involve 50 business leaders from companies, universities and trade associations.

Stream Bio will be attending several events in Beijing and Shanghai, covering topics including the future of medicine, intellectual property, and the UK’s current and future trading partnership with China.

The life sciences sector, which is an important feature in the UK industrial strategy, is experiencing strong demand in China due to its large and ageing population.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for Stream to prove itself as a key player in the life science sector in the UK and beyond,” explained Stream Bio’s CEO, Andrew Chaloner, who will be attending the trip. “We are honoured that our revolutionary Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticle (CPNTM) technology has been recognised as a facilitator of the future of medicine, and we are delighted to have been approached by the government to attend this important trip for UK trade.”
