Catalent Presents Drug Delivery Technologies and Further Expansion into Emerging Markets

A team of senior drug development and delivery experts from Catalent Pharma Solutions will lead multiple thought-leadership discussions and exhibit at CPhI Worldwide. Catalent is a global leader in drug development solutions and advanced delivery technologies for pharmaceutical, biologic and consumer health products.  

At the Pre-Connect Conference on Monday 21 October, at 10 am, Catalent’s Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President R&D and Chairman of the Catalent Drug Delivery Institute Dr. Kurt Nielsen will chair the Drug Delivery Systems session, focusing on 'Embracing innovation through novel technologies'. Dr. Nielsen will moderate this module on drug delivery innovations, lead thought-provoking discussions and introduce influential expert-presenters, including Prof. Claus Michael Lehr, Catalent Institute Advisory Board Member & Co-founder and Head of the Department of Drug Delivery, Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (Germany), and Dr. Nigel Langley, Head of Marketing Pharma Ingredients & Services BASF. Later the same day, at 1 pm, Dr. Nielsen will chair the module entitled 'Biosimilars and Biobetters - Embracing the next generation of biopharmaceuticals through effective development and commercialisation'. Finally at 1.55 pm, Rob Gustines, Director of Catalent Biologics, will present a practical case study, 'Optimized Development of Biosimilars and Biobetters', citing examples of how the utilisation of Catalent’s GPEx technology platform can help innovators achieve higher yields and more stability to speed the drug (biosimilars) to clinic faster.  

Two Catalent senior executives will be giving presentations during the show at the ICSE Speakers Corner. On Tuesday 22 at 11.30, Steve Leonard, Vice President Global Operations, will present 'Launching Several New Technologies and Facilities from Design to Supply' and discuss how Catalent’s broad experience, deep expertise and global resources can provide reliable development services and help ensure accelerated new product launches. On Wednesday 23 at 11 am, Catalent’s Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Will Downie will focus on 'New Drug Delivery Technologies - New Options for Better Treatments'.  

At a Press Briefing entitled 'Advanced Drug Delivery Technologies and Emerging Markets' from 2 until 3 pm on Wednesday 23, Catalent is to reveal a number of new drug delivery technologies and discuss how the company’s global expansion of existing facilities and into emerging markets will help its partners to realise more products, better treatments and in reliable supply of pharmaceutical, biologic and consumer health products. The briefing will be hosted by Dr. Nielsen, Mr. Downie and Dr. Aris Gennadios, President of Softgel Technologies, and will be held in the Consens conference room, adjacent to the Press Office.
