Data-Centric ELN Supports Collaboration and Multidiscipline Activity

Today’s R&D market needs to be able to create and work in secure, flexible communities supported by trusted data. It requires powerful informatics platforms with broad capability. Modern, data centric electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) are well aligned to support this collaboration and multidiscipline activity, managing data security and access control.

Legacy sticker-book or paper on glass ELNs are being superseded with enterprise systems like IDBS’s E-WorkBook Suite data management platform. By extending the sticker book paradigm strong ontology, fact data management and workflow management enable scientists to move beyond unstructured data capture and IP protection, towards real-time data centric collaboration.

IDBS’s E-WorkBook Suite recently saw major enhancements to its web client. Furthermore, the latest 9.3 release also includes integration with IDBS’s workflow and analytics engine and new asset tracking and management technology.

The extended web capabilities include editing and content creation as well as the ability to complete tasks and workflows. The inclusion of new customised personal and project dashboards provides fast and easy views of critical information and data that are surfaced automatically, meaning users do not have to spend time searching.

Also launched with 9.3 is InforSense for E-WorkBook, a sophisticated analytics and workflow system, already in use across R&D and the health sciences. It delivers high-end analytical power into the hands of researchers through their ELN without having to worry about integrating a separate product or manually transferring data. It allows users to combine data from any source inside or outside their organisation and to link that to any application to build up integrated, validated and performant data analysis workflows.

Users enjoy outstanding flexibility and power to support their work with E-WorkBook Suite, providing a single environment for data capture, integration, analysis, searching and reporting.
