DSM introducing next generation 3C technology at CphI

Leading nutritional supplier, DSM Nutritional Products will be introducing its next generation 3C technology for omega-3 EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) at this year’s CphI.  

The 3C technology delivers highly-concentrated and customisable combinations of EPA and DHA for both pharmaceutical and food supplement applications. The high concentrations offer by 3C technology will make it possible to achieve a much smaller capsule size.

DSM will be based at stand S310 where visitors can discover the omega-3 EPA/DHA status in individual countries. This is following the publication of a paper, co-authored by DSM, highlighting that adults in most regions of the world have low omega-3 levels. Low levels of omega-3 increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. A separate report concluded that an increased use of omega-3 supplements in the European Union could potentially prevent 1.5 million cases of cardiovascular disease in people over 55, saving €64.5 billion in healthcare costs.
