Festo demonstrates pharma automation at Making Pharmaceuticals

by

Festo, a supplier of automation technology for the pharmaceutical industry, will be showcasing its pneumatic, handling and positioning, process automation and control technologies at Making Pharmaceuticals

At the show Festo will display its DFPD quarter turn actuator, VZQA pneumatic pinch valve and EXCM planar surface gantry.

The DFPD, is a new quarter-turn actuator, with an aluminium housing that provides high corrosion resistance, while delivering a long service life with low wear thanks to an innovative pressure-dependent lip seal, according to Festo.

Festo’s EXCM electric planar surface gantry is a 3D handling system that can take loads of up to several hundred grams.

The EXCM covers a maximum working space of 360 x 700 mm for the movements in the XY direction and it is coupled with an electric axis EGSK for the vertical Z movement for strokes of up to 100 mm. The system is completed by stepper motors, motor controllers as well as a multi-axis controller.

The Company said it supports pharmaceutical manufacturers with laboratory and process automation in primary and secondary production and packaging.

The company’s training division, Festo Training & Consulting, also supports manufacturers through the development of competencies in the areas of technology, lean production, and management and people skills.

For more information visit Festo’s stand 444 at Making Pharmaceuticals, on 26 – 27 April at the National Conference Centre, Brimingham.
