Freeman Technology, a company specialising in powder characterisation, has expanded its global presence further with the establishment of an office in Japan.

“Japan has always been an important market for Freeman Technology,” explained Tim Freeman, managing director. “Establishing our own direct operation there reflects the growth we have seen over the last decade, and our continued commitment to our customers.”

Takashi Nishimura has been appointed as product manager. He has over a decade of experience in the analytical instrumentation industry and will provide sales and customer support in the region.

Founded in 1989, Freeman Technology initially developed automated testing systems for materials characterisation, leading to an exclusive focus on powders since the late 1990s. Its solutions include the FT4 Powder Rheometer, which uses patented dynamic methodology, automated shear cells and a series of bulk property tests to quantify powder behaviour in terms of flow and processability. Additionally, the company offers in-line, real-time flow measurement capabilities through its partnership with Lenterra.
