Gas-tight fitting solution from Norgren ends leaks and minimises sample carryover

Norgren, has introduced a new revolutionary range of lip-seal fittings for the life sciences sector, preventing sample loss and contamination to maximise instrument sensitivity.

The new AFP Lip-Seal fittings deliver engineering advantage by offering gas-tight leak prevention and a zero dead volume system. Unlike other analytical fittings that allow sample loss and contamination, the Norgren’s AFP Lip-Seal fitting design creates redundant sealing surfaces to ensure a gas-tight connection. This maximises instrument sensitivity, enabling trace detection and analysis.

Zero dead volume fittings are required for high-sensitivity analysis such as patient toxicology measurement. Norgren AFP Lip-Seal fittings eliminate false positives by creating a silent environment which minimises sample carryover. Offering a cost-saving and safe alternative, fully swept flow paths are essential for removing elements of prior samples that could potentially interfere with subsequent runs, delivering faulty data that could lead to costly or even dangerous errors.

Gas-tight fittings are critical for operator safety, especially in processes using toxic or combustible gases. Norgren’s AFP Lip-Seal fitting is the only product on the market today that offers the protection of redundant gas-tight sealing surfaces. Traditional fittings used in these applications are particularly vulnerable to leaking due to temperature variations, high pressures and wear.
