GEA confirms €4 million containment contract
GEA, an industrial process equipment and technology supplier, and Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd (HPL), a branded generic products manufacturer for markets in Asia, Africa, Europe and the CIS region, struck a €4 million deal at this year's ACHEMA trade show for GEA to deliver a fully contained solution for potent oral solid dosage form production.
The equipment provided by GEA includes a fully integrated and contained (OEB 5) 800 L granulation line for hormone-based products with an STTWA of 1–10 µg/m3. The end-to-end solution provides API dispensing through high containment valves to the contained loading of a GEA tablet press. Both wet granulation and direct compression tablet production can be accommodated.
GEA’s executive vice president for APC Pharma Marcus Michel added: "GEA and HPL first collaborated in 2013 with the delivery of an integrated PharmaConnect system for the research and development of highly potent cytotoxic applications. Our collaborative approach has won repeat trade from HPL, taking our partnership to the next level."
HPL's chief executive officer Muhammed Halimuzzaman added: "Guided by GEA's expertise, HPL has implemented state-of-the-art production equipment that will optimise our manufacturing processes and enable us to deliver world-class products that are safe, high quality and efficacious."
