Gerresheimer to attend CPhI with Sensile Medical for first time

Healthcare company Gerresheimer will be attending CPhI Worldwide this year with Sensile Medical for the first time.

Gerresheimer recently acquired the Swiss company this year in a move to offer drug delivery platforms with digital and electronic capabilities. Now, the company will be joining Gerresheimer’s team of experts and sales specialists at CPhI Worldwide in Madrid for the first time.

Chief business officer at Sensile, Sandra de Haan said: “Pooling Gerresheimer’s and Sensile Medical’s expertise is an ideal move for any of our customers looking for innovation.”

Sensile Medical is being turned into Gerresheimer’s Development Division and will cover the field of devices for the entire company. Sensile Medical is already working on projects with customers to develop devices for diabetics and patients with heart disease.

The company has recently developed a new kind of micro pump - SenseCore - which is small, very precise in dosage and inexpensive to manufacture. The device’s high degree of flexibility makes it compatible with a variety of drugs, the company states.

Sensile Medical’s current product range includes components with high dosage accuracy, easy handling and safe drug delivery mechanisms.

Gerresheimer will be presenting all of these products at booth 4C30 at CPhI.
