Rigaku will be showcasing its new generation handheld Raman analyser for raw material identification (RMID). Progeny is designed to deliver improved performance, ease of use and confidence in a handheld form.

Unlike other handheld Raman devices, Progeny eliminates issues of fluorescence interference with the use of a 1064-nm excitation laser. This enables users of handheld Raman to measure materials through thick, coloured bottles, such as polysorbate 20 and polysorbate 80.
