Kraiburg TPE focuses on medical compounds at Pharmapack

Thermoplastic elastomer compounding specialist Kraiburg TPE presented its new medical compounds at Pharmapack 2019. 

The company’s adhesion-optimised Thermolast M compounds is  on display for the first time at the show. 

Kraiburg TPE collaborated with chemical company Eastman to develop the new Thermolast M compounds in an effort to increase is focus on medical applications and pharmaceutical packaging. The high-purity TPEs can adhere directly to specialised polymers used in medical applications. They can also be sterilised using standard treatments with ethylene oxide (EtO), gamma or electron radiation.

Oliver Kluge, business unit manager medical applications at Kraiburg TPE said: “We are in the process of expanding our portfolio for the medical and pharmaceutical markets and for this purpose we are focusing on developing new materials for innovative products”.
