Last chance for innovators to apply to the Pharmapack Awards 2017

Europe’s pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery event, Pharmapack, are calling on innovators across the industry to apply for the Pharmapack Awards before its closing submission on 11 November.

The awards, intended to recognise the most exciting innovations and breakthrough developments, started in 1997 and focus on two categories, Exhibitor Innovations and Health Products.

The Health Products category acknowledges the successful collaboration of pharmaceutical companies and their packaging suppliers. The ‘Exhibitor innovation’ category celebrates the best innovations among the submissions displayed as part Pharmapack’s Innovation Gallery.

Award entries will be judged by a leading expert panel of independent doctors and pharmacists including president of the jury, Professor Philippe Arnaud – pharmacist and service chief of the Bichat-Claude Bernard AP-HP hospital and France's National Agency for Medicines and Health Product Safety (ANSM) expert.

Vetinary, pharma and biopharma companies can be considered as long as they meet at least one of the following criteria: ensure proper use of medications, patient safety and improved use of medicines; significant steps towards sustainable packaging; and/or provide innovative packaging solutions or drug delivery technologies.

The winners of both categories will be revealed live during the Awards ceremony, held on the first day of the show during the Exhibitor and Visitor Cocktail Party.

Previous winners include breakthrough innovations in user data communication systems, drug preparation solutions, protected injection devices, preservative elimination green chemistry, controlled oral drug delivery devices, canine innovative gel treatment and a coloured coded safety system for intravenous administration.

Anne Schumacher, event director Pharmapack, commented: “2017 is another extremely exciting year for Pharmapack as we celebrate 20 years with our biggest show to date. Pharmapack Europe is an integral platform to develop new ideas and explore patient changing solutions of tomorrow. As the industry globalises, we are seeing new innovators presented from the US and the rest of the world, alongside our core European audience. In the last few years, we have seen an impressive increase in the number and calibre of entries and a growing appreciation of the prestige that winning an Award conveys on a company. For the 2017 awards, we anticipate more entries than ever before, from across diverse geographies, further raising the bar in pharma packaging and drug delivery innovation.”
