Liverpool’s Lord Mayor pays visit to PSL

On 28 April 2015, Powder Systems Ltd (PSL) welcomed a visit from the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Erica Kemp CBE.

The Lord Mayor was visiting the premises of PSL located in the International Business Park in Speke, Liverpool. Visiting for a second time after first coming to PSL in September 2014 at the occasion of PSL’s 25th anniversary celebrations, Cllr Erika Kemp came back to see more of the operations and meet the team of skilled employees working in the offices and the assembly area.

“I was pleased to visit PSL in Liverpool once again and see how well this company is doing at international trade. It is a great example of a successful British business that shows sustainable growth thanks to its highly-skilled employee base, continuous innovation and global thinking,” explained Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Cllr Erica Kemp CBE.

“After speaking with the multi-national staff, I was impressed by the hard work they are putting in to their operations and the fascinating job they have, mixing technical, manual and international knowledge. Seeing so many young apprentices growing within the business was also a promising asset for the future of this international business.”

The Lord Mayor also talked about her nominated charities, which PSL’s staff were eager to know more about. The nominated charities are the Alzheimer's Society, the Merseyside branch of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA), the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Reader Organisation.

PSL was also celebrating being shortlisted as a finalist in the 2015 E3 Business Awards, which will be held at the Macron Stadium in Bolton on Thursday 11 June.

The company was selected from hundreds of nominees across the North West UK to become one of the finalists for the prestigious International Business of the Year category.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Managing Director Amanda Pitcher said: “It was an honour to once again be a finalist at the E3 Awards. Last year, PSL won in the Manufacturing Business category and in 2015 being selected for the International Business of the Year shows our continuous growth and international expansion is being recognised by our communities”.

"Any finalist this year has already achieved something special," said Mubarak Chati, managing director of 1 Events Media, which hosts the E3 Awards. "Each year, we notice a marked increase in the number of nominations and, in 2015, we've seen a huge leap. Numbers were up more than 30% on 2014, and it's clear that the standard is rising steadily too.

"Given the high number and the high calibre of entries, we certainly presented the Nominations Panel with a very difficult challenge. For PSL to have been named as a finalist is an achievement of which it should be very proud."
