More efficient packaging and improved protection

August Faller has revealed an expansion to its combination product portfolio. Now, pharmacists can benefit from the package leaflet being combined with a patient alert card in a sealed film, which is more efficient and improves product protection.

As it is becoming more common for some pharmaceutical products to contain other information carriers, such as patient alert cards and medical alert cards, along with the standard leaflet, this new combination product offers packaging cost advantages for pharmacists.

With this solution, an outsert can be combined with a patient alert card in up to three languages and then sealed in film. The film protects the information carriers and is perforated to ease opening by the patient.

Other applications are possible with this new solution, such as combining the standard package leaflet with allergy ID cards and medication cards with supplements on the use of inhalers or autoinjectors.

August Faller has been exclusively producing package leaflets of various forms wince 2003 at its plant in Binzen, Germany. It has invested in new sealing methods, an automated packaging machine, systems to combine leaflets and various outsert folding machines.
