Memorandum of Understanding will see fostering of industry internet of things in China

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Siemens and Alibaba Cloud, under which both companies will partner to foster the industrial internet of things (IoT) in China.

Through leveraging each other’s expertise, technology and industry resources, they will seek to build a unique IoT solution to support Industry 4.0, China’s manufacturing upgrade and transformation and other industrial internet initiatives.

This cooperation is a landmark deal for bringing Industry 4.0-solutions to China as the world’s powerhouse of manufacturing. Our customers will be able to unlock the potential of the Industrial Internet of Things with MindSphere now also on the leading Chinese cloud platform,” explained Joe Kaeser, president and CEO of Siemens. “Today, we further strengthen our global leadership in automating and digitalizing the Industrial world.”

This collaboration will begins immediately and both companies intend to make MindSphere — Siemens’ cloud-based, open IoT operating system — available on Alibaba Cloud next year.
