NHS backed digital health company to launch new management platform

A new health management platform targeted towards medication adherence and proactive healthcare has been unveiled by digital health management company, Healthera.

The platform consists of a number of features designed to aid both patients and GPS in areas such as managing repeat prescriptions, reducing waste, producing data into medicine taking and offering solutions for medication compliance.

Every year because of poor medicine management and medicine wastage the NHS loses £4 billion according to Healthera. With as little as 16% of people taking their prescribed medicine correctly a solution is needed for proper medication management.

Healthera’s management platform includes the Healthera app and the Helatherea Pharmacy Suite. The app enables patients to scan QR-coded drug labels and set alarms to remind them when to take medication. The app also includes a smart medicine diary that automatically schedules pharmacy visits and analyses medicine taking which can be shared with GPs.

The Pharmacy Suite allows for two-way engagement between pharmacists and patients. Pharmacists have access to real-time data and may offer advice on medicine taking.

The company have been recently backed by the NHS England initiative (SBRI Healthcare), which is intended for digital innovation to help improve health needs in the UK.
