Offering an alternative — Natoli releases plastic media for automated polishing

Natoli Engineering has released additions to its tablet compression accessories catalogue in the form of plastic media that can be used with automated polishing systems.

The PolyPlus and PolyPlus Prime solutions offer an alternative to traditional walnut shell media in drag finishing. Both varieties are available in sizes 40/60 mil spec and are packaged in 50 lb/22.68 kg boxes. The plastic is thoroughly tested for quality assurance also.

Made from 100% ‘virgin’ urea resin, the plastic media does not contain calcium carbonate, which causes residue, thereby making it ideal for pharmaceutical applications.

“We're seeing a lot more interest in the plastic media, especially from pharmaceutical companies,” exclaimed Cory Terry, Natoli's parts and accessories catalogue manager. “With rising concerns over allergens, plastic media is the ideal solution for an alternative to traditional walnut shell media.”

Furthermore, plastic media can be used repeatedly, creates minimal dust and can potentially eliminate the requirement of a vacuum system.
