Schreiner MediPharm presents smart packaging solutions at Pharmapack

Packaging supplier Schreiner MediPharm has presented its latest smart packaging at Pharmapack. 

Schreiner MediPharm showcased its latest development in digital therapy monitoring at the show. The company’s “Smart Vial Kit” enables electronic tracking and monitoring of medication dispensing and intake via perforated compartments and printed electronics. The multi-vial box is covered with a number of perforated areas which, when opened, are tracked by integrated, printed electronics.

The Smart Vial Kit is able to track the exact removal time, the from which the vial was removed and the respective medication all in real-time. Data are automatically stored in the smart packaging and be viewed using an app  

The Smart Vial Kit can also include temperature monitoring for temperature-sensitive, liquid substances such as biopharmaceuticals.

Schreiner MediPharm states that its Smart Vial Kit is ideal for clinical trials due to its adherence monitoring capability, which can give clinicians more reliable data compared to manual monitoring.

Schreiner MediPharm also showcased a number of other products at Pharmapack, including its Smart Blister Pack for enhanced medication adherence, an NFC label for digital authentication of autoinjectors, and UV and light protection labels for active ingredient protection of liquid medicines in glass containers.
