PTI reveals virtual world of learning possibilities

A game-based learning platform from Pharmaceutical Training International (PTI) has evolved into a fully customisable 3D virtual environment, capable of reflecting a client’s real world site or facilities and allowing learners to interact with a familiar environment and each other.

Companies benefit from the complete integration of their own learning materials, saving costs through extending material lifetime and ensuring staff receive the most relevant and immediately actionable training possible.

In addition, gamification through tasks, quizzes and interactive scenarios ensure that a complete training solution is provided. Whether new hires or experienced professionals, the 3D environment enables staff to learn in an engaging way, then apply their new skills in role-play with computer- and colleague-controlled avatars.

Clients can also monitor employee progress throughout, tracking how their skills develop so areas for future growth can be identified.

PTI’s managing director Rosie Bernard commented: “The development of this new and unique 3D game-based learning platform is a real step forward for training in the (bio)pharma and medical device industries. It very effectively enables staff to develop their skills by finding solutions to real and relevant problems, and is a very time- and cost-effective method to upskill a workforce.”
