Romaco presents new solution for FMD at Pharmapack

Process and packaging equipment supplier Romaco has presented its semi-automatic case packer at Pharmapack.

The company showcased its Promatic PAK 130 at the show for companies seeking aggregated pharmaceutical packaging.

The Promatic PAK 130 is a semi-automatic case packer which packs cartons into cases and addresses the requirements of the new EU Regulation 2016/161, which comes into force in February.

The “Falsified Medicines Directive” aims to improve the security features of pharmaceutical packaging by tracking a drug’s origin through specific labelling requirements, helping to prevent counterfeit drugs.

For this reason, the Promatic PAK 130 was designed to be connected to software solutions which provide secure aggregation. Pharmaceutical manufacturers themselves are free to decide which suppliers they eventually purchase their aggregation systems from. Romaco Promatic then configures the PAK 130 accordingly. In this way, the semi-automatic machines in the Promatic PAK product family ensure compliance with the latest anti-counterfeiting standards for pharmaceutical production.
