Significant investment in Brazilian facility announced by Klöckner Pentaplast

Klöckner Pentaplast’s Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Films Division has revealed a significant investment (€5 million) into its Cotia, Brazil facility to support market growth in the region.

“We are seeing substantial growth in our high barrier product segments in South America in response to the increased temperature, moisture and oxygen sensitivity of new drugs,” explained Tracey Peacock, president, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Films at Klöckner Pentaplast. “We are excited to support this key mega trend by adding significant capacity and technical capability to support new products into our Cotia facility.”

This latest investment comes approximately two years after the company added its fourth slitting line in the Brazilian facility, which increased the capacity by about 4,000 tons per year.

The company anticipates its new capability will be operational from July 2019 and is aimed at improving service to customers in the South American region.

The Klöckner Pentaplast Group is a company focused on rigid and flexible packaging, printing and specialty solutions, serving the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage and card markets, amongst others.
