Sweet deals at CPhI

Avantor Performance Materials is launching its new J.T.Baker line of high purity low endotoxin (HPLE) sugars at CPhI today

The sugars are designed to increase the efficacy of active pharmaceutical ingredients, improve cell culture yield for biopharmaceutical manufacturers and enhance patient safety.

Available as beet and cane sucrose, galactose and trehalose, the sugars will be unveiled at Avantor’s Advance Biopharmaceuticals' stand at the show today.

“We’ve expanded our manufacturing capabilities to purify bioexcipients using proprietary purification technology,” said Roland Heinrich, chief commercial officer at Avantor.

“As a result, our new J.T.Baker HPLE sugars achieve endotoxin levels that are consistently below regulatory requirements and contain industry-leading low impurity levels. This supports our customers’ efforts to maximise patient safety."

“These sugars decrease degradation during fill and finish and preserve the integrity of protein during and after lyophilisation,” said Heinrich.

“The reduced impurity levels also help increase cell culture yields allowing for higher production output in existing facilities. This can bring tangible economic benefits to biopharmaceutical manufacturers.”
