Thermo Fisher update its handheld analyser

Newest software update for handheld raw material analyser offers enhanced capability for pharmaceutical industry personnel.

Leader in serving science, Thermo Fisher, has announced a new software update for its handheld analyser, The Thermo Scientific TruScan RM v.2.6.

The latest update provides pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers with enhanced capability when using the analyser. The update enables the embedded chemometrics engine to offer users an additional spectral pre-processing option for ensuring the quality of materials. It also improves compatibility with operating systems and web browsers.

The TruScan RM analyser aims to eliminate time-consuming lab tests by providing a rapid and easy-to-use solution to identify incoming raw material and finished product at the point of need. The analyser provides non-destructive point-and-shoot sampling that facilitates rapid verification of a broad range of chemical compounds through sealed packaging to minimise the risk of contamination and exposure.

A range of new processing options are available such as the embedded chemometrics engine which offers second derivative as well as first derivative pre-processing options. The analyser now has the option to synchronise the analyser time clock with the time clock of the archive computer or server.

Operating systems supported by the analyser now include Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10, along with the Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11, Edge version 25, and Google Chrome version 51 web browsers.
