Vetter supplies all German sites with green electricity

Global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) Vetter has reached an ‘environmental milestone’ by supplying all of its German sites with CO2 natural energy.

The move comes as part of the company’s commitment to climate and environmental protection.

From now on the company will ensure its German sites are supplied with green electricity from certified renewable energy sources.

More so, within the next 10 years, Vetter plans to offset its use of natural gas across the whole organisation.

“Sustainability is a central pillar of Vetter’s corporate philosophy and our stance on this subject is firmly anchored within our organization. The supply of our German sites with green electricity is an important part of our company-wide program for environmental protection, energy management, and occupational health and safety,” said managing director Thomas Otto. “Our aim is to act holistically and develop our multi-faceted initiatives in these areas on a continuous basis.”

Recently, the CDMO implemented its largest sustainability project at its centre for visual inspection and logistics, which operates on a sustainable energy concept developed by Vetter. The site includes the operation of a modern, environmentally friendly block heating and power plant, the use of geothermal energy and the comprehensive use of excess energy, as well as powerful photovoltaic systems, all of which are combined in an energy-efficient manner.

Vetter is also targeting actions for sustainable, resource-efficient management, healthy working conditions and staff training through its sustainability programme.
