Vetter wins award for its Center for Visual Inspection and Logistics

Contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), Vetter, has won this year’s (2018) ISPE Facility of the Year Award (FOYA) in the Facility of the Future category for its Center for Visual Inspection and Logistics.

The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) awards companies that have shown outstanding foresight, care and innovative creativity in the design and implementation of their facilities. The judges for the award were impressed by the combination of location design, technologies and innovative processes at the Ravensburg Vetter West site.

“We are very pleased to have received this important international award,” said Vetter managing director Thomas Otto. “Being selected by the jury is not only a great honour, but also an incentive to maintain our focus on quality in terms of products and processes.”

“In our future-oriented Center for Visual Inspection and Logistics, we combine many years of expertise in optimizing supply chain processes,” added Otto’s management colleague Peter Soelkner. “In this way, we can offer our customers — including the world's top 20 pharmaceutical and biotech companies — ideal conditions for transport, storage and quality assurance of their products.”

This latest award follows on from Vetter being honoured with the CMO Leadership Awards 2018 in five categories — quality, expertise, reliability, capabilities and service. Life Science Leader, one of the leading trade journals in the pharmaceutical industry, awarded the prize for the seventh time.
