Zenith profits from MES growth trend

Life science technology firm, Zenith Technologies, has surpassed the €20 million milestone for sales of its manufacturing execution system (MES) services, as adoption of this segment has increased globally.

“MES has been the fastest growing segment of our offering and now represents almost a third of our business,” confirmed James O’Brien, global MES business unit lead at Zenith Technologies. “Factors such as a greater focus on data integrity and customer demand for improved production performance have led to growing use of MES solutions within the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries, which have traditionally been slow to adopt new technologies.”

The company, which is headquartered in Ireland, provides MES and data historian deployment and support services to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers globally. Over the past five years, the company reports that its sales for this part of the business have grown significantly with an average of 35% year on year growth.

“The UK in particular is quickly becoming an MES centre of excellence, with MES sales representing 70% of our business in this market,” added O’Brien. “Similarly, the US and Asia markets offer huge growth potential as the adoption of MES within the life science industry continues to grow across the globe.”

To strengthen its ability to support customers globally and to further support growth, Zenith Technologies has recently formed a number of strategic partnerships with MES technology providers, including Werum IT Solutions, AspenTech and LZ Lifescience.
