‘MedTalk’ podcast launched covering pharma, digital health and medtech news

The ‘MedTalk’ podcast from European Pharmaceutical Manufacturer and its sister titles — Digital Health Age, Med-Tech Innovation and Medical Plastics News — has officially been launched.

This podcast offers an informal-style discussion between the four editors of the leading medical sector publications about hot topics and the latest innovations within the healthcare sector.

The first instalment includes the industry news on the liquidation of one of the major brands in wearable fitness trackers — delivered by Reece Armstrong, reporter on Digital Health Age — the rise of ‘femtech’ where connected medical devices are being aimed at feminine health — given by Lu Rahman, group editor, Medical Plastics News — a look at the new craze of inhalable chocolate — from Fliss Thomas, editor of EPM — and an infant transport device that borrows from F1 technology — by Dave Gray, editor of Med-Tech Innovation.

Dave Gray explained the aim of the podcast: “We wanted to bring our four media brands together to create something for anyone with a stake in the life sciences and healthcare industry.

“Increasingly our sectors are converging and we find ourselves discussing crossover content on a daily basis. These discussions often provoke further debate and great content ideas – so we thought the time was right to translate that into a podcast.

“We also really wanted to keep things quite light. This podcast is really just a recording of our editorial meeting – hopefully it will engage others with an active interest in health and medicine technology.”

The podcast will initially run as a monthly production, providing an informal look at the latest and greatest in healthcare. Episode one is available now on iTunes, Soundcloud and Stitcher.
