Contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), Juniper Pharma Services, has continued its strategic capital investment with the purchase of three additional pieces of processing equipment.
Business growth
The new equipment, a Gerteis MINI-PACTOR roller compactor, KG Pharma RoTab Bilayer tablet press and an O’Hara Labcoat Film Coater, will be installed at the company’s Nottingham-cased clinical manufacturing site. This investment follows the successful implementation of the original set of this equipment 12 months earlier, leading to a duplicate process chain to be fully operational by the end of the month (June).
“This significant investment signals our commitment to expanding our services to meet with the growing demand in solid oral dosage form development; a demand that is particularly prominent for difficult to formulate compounds in which JPS specialises,” stated Claire Madden-Smith, senior vice president at Juniper Pharma Services. “Our new equipment will greatly contribute to the niche manufacturing requirements of our clients, and enable JPS to work towards solving even more drug development challenges for unmet medical needs.”
