MedPharm has announced that it has become an Olink Certified Service Provider (CSP), making it the first Olink CSP in the Carolinas and one of only three in the Southeastern United States.

The new capability enables MedPharm to provide Olink proteomic analysis of multi-species samples across a range of matrices, including tissue, plasma, serum, tears, etc., supporting clients from early research through clinical development. The service complements MedPharm’s established end-to-end capabilities in disease modeling and human tissue-based research, providing pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies access to deeper insights into how therapeutic candidates affect human tissues at a functional level.
For MedPharm’s clients, the addition of Olink technology creates opportunities to combine proteomic data with established disease models using reconstructed and ex vivo human tissues. This integrated approach can provide a more comprehensive view of therapeutic activity, helping researchers investigate biological responses and potential mechanisms of action in human-relevant models.
“Becoming an Olink Certified Service Provider extends MedPharm into targeted, multiplex protein biomarker analysis for the first time,” said Jon Lenn, Ph.D., chief scientific officer, MedPharm. “We are the only contract research organization with Certified Service Provider status in the Carolinas, and this platform lets us bring that capability to sponsors directly rather than through a third party. This certification is also the first step in a broader plan to expand MedPharm’s capabilities as a contract research organisation, supporting clinical trial sample analysis and translational models that support clinical development.”
The Olink platform is powered by Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, a highly sensitive method that uses dual antibody recognition of target proteins with a DNA-based readout. PEA enables precise measurement of protein biomarkers from sample volumes as small as 1 µL, supporting both absolute and relative protein measurements across low- and high-abundance targets.
With established operations in both the US and UK, together with its partnership network in Belgium, MedPharm is positioned to support clients internationally and expand its proteomic and human-relevant testing capabilities.
