Merck Millipore Highlights Latest Biomanufacturing Solutions at INTERPHEX

Merck Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck, invites  INTERPHEX visitors to learn about the company's portfolio of solutions for the entire biopharmaceutical process. A complete range of upstream and downstream technologies helps the biopharmaceutical industry make, purify, formulate and assure the quality and safety of drug production. Single and multi-use solutions, including customisable hardware, allow manufacturers to develop processes to meet their specific requirements. The end result is improved efficiency, productivity and accelerated time to market.

Products on display for the first time include:

Cellvento cell culture media

Merck Millipore offers a comprehensive chemicals portfolio, including high-quality, chemically defined cell culture media manufactured under cGMP conditions. The Cellvento CHO media platform provides non-animal origin media formulations for batch and fed-batch mode operations, delivering robust cell growth and consistent high performance.

Clarisolve depth filters

Clarisolve depth filters are the first primary clarification offering with a gradient density structure specifically designed to the particle size distributions of pretreated feed streams. The filters allow biopharmaceutical manufacturers to move directly from primary clarification to downstream sterile filtration without the need for centrifugation or a secondary clarification stage, reducing overall footprint and improving process economics. Merck Millipore has also developed a cationic pDADMAC (poly diallyldimenthyl ammonium chloride) flocculation reagent that, in combination with Clarisolve depth filters, provides an effective solution for harvesting high cell density cultures and can be easily incorporated into current clarification platforms.

Pellicon 3 cassettes with Ultracel membrane with new D screen for high viscosity applications

These advanced, high-performance cassettes are ideal for today's higher-titer therapeutic antibodies, as well as demanding filtration processes that require higher operating pressures, temperatures, concentrations and caustic cleaning regimes. With the new high viscosity screen, biopharmaceutical producers can reach higher concentration for Mabs, rec IgG and recombinant protein.

DRYPOUR packaging systems

The DRYPOUR packaging system minimises the caking of hygroscopic salts used in pharmaceutical manufacturing during transport and storage. The system, which uses desiccant bags integrated into a polyethylene liner, helps improve operational efficiency by reducing the need to manually break up heavily caked raw materials.
