To celebrate the launch of its IRSpirit FTIR spectrophotometer, Shimadzu UK has revealed it is running a prize draw for UK-based scientists to win free, UK-based spectroscopy training course (worth £1,200).
Win prize
The winner of the prize draw will receive a free training course at their UK-based lab, fully customised to their needs. Topics can include, but are not limited to, thetheory behind infrared and UV-vis spectroscopy, application support, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Anyone wishing to enter the competition needs to answer a multiple-choice question on Shimadzu’s website and can also apply for a second chance of winning by emailing the company a picture showing how a piece of A3 paper fits in their lab.
The IRSpirit features a small footprint, coming in at smaller than A3 paper size, and is lightweight, weighing 8.5 kg. It is ideal for applications in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries as well as academic institutions. Featuring an aluminium die cast body and humidity-resistant components, the spectrophotometer can be used reliably in harsh temperatures and high humidity environments. Additionally, the IRSpirit comes with 23 pre-set application programmes as standard to make it easy to use for those with minimal FTIR experience.
