Sewtec has launched a fast, compact and flexible robotic palletiser, ideal for high-volume packing lines in industries such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
With most palletising systems, operators use standalone pallet configuration software and the resulting layout then has to be programmed into the palletisers control system. The Sewtec Palletiser incorporates software where the dimensions of the pack are inputted directly into the machine, which automatically works out and adjusts itself to the most appropriate format. This allows changeovers to be carried out in a matter of minutes.
The flexible design enables two pallets to be loaded in quick succession or simultaneously from different lines. In addition, for applications where a layer card is required, these can be accessed from the second pallet position for automatic placing during the loading of the pallet.
The Sewtec palletiser features a robust and hygienic construction that can handle case weights of up to 30 kg. All moving parts are enclosed to provide protection against dust. Typical speeds are up to 10 cases per minute, with a flipper unit ensuring that each pack is presented in the correct orientation to the robot head. The palletiser’s compact dimensions mean it can fit into small spaces, while its easy-access design enables one pallet to be removed from the machine by forklift truck while the other one is being loaded.
Using Sewtec’s ability to design bespoke tooling heads, the palletiser can also be adapted to meet precise customer and product specifications.
All functions and operations are carried out via an easy-to-use intuitive touchscreen. Code readers and scanners can be incorporated to help verify loads or as part of full traceability.
The Sewtec palletiser completes the company’s portfolio of end-of-line equipment, which includes case packers, case closers and robotic handling systems, enabling Sewtec to design and install bespoke automated solutions for individual customer requirements.
